FAQ's

I want appliques but I don't know how to steam them? Do I need special tools? TOP
No most of the time you can use product that you already have in your home. Please look for the directions link of the applique page.

I am looking for a specific Applique, or I want more than you have in stock ? TOP
I am happy to help you find what you are looking for ! I have many appliques that I can
choose from. If you want more than I have in stock I am always putting more orders in & I am
happy to do a pre-order for you. Special orders can take up to a month to receive based on
the fact that they are made to order.

I have a project I'm working on. It has a somewhat shiny surface, and I'm not sure if I should just paint it a flat white and then sand off parts to make it look shabby. Do you have any suggestions for how to do this? TOP
I think that your best bet is to buy a spray paint primer ( in white ) and prime it first...
depending on the glossy finish... with out priming.. paint will either flake off or soak into the shiny finish. If you were going to apply appliques then I would put these on before you prime.

As for sanding if you are a newbie at shabby sanding. I suggest buying a fine grain sand
paper to start with. Then sand the edges that you think would be bumped the most. Then step back and see what you think. Its really hard to mess this part up... If fact if you over scuff in a few places it makes it look better ! As you get more confidant then move on to a thicker grain paper. Always try to sand in the direction that you pained... if you scuff across the wrong direction.. it leaves the paint looking a little miffed.

What color white and what brand paint is your favorite ? TOP
My favorite is Dutch Boy Fashion Fresh, soft white, satin finish. Its in a blue
can and is sold at Kmart and a few other places.
Click here to find it in your area, I dont
suggest bright white or white white.. this seems to show dirt and wear and not in an attractive
"shabby" way :)

I love your couch where did you get it ? TOP
I bought my couch from a CA company named Cozi Couch
They are a wonderful quality and at the time of purchase about 1/3 the cost of the shabby chic company.
